Fire extinguishing installations using dry columns

DESCRIPTION

Dry columns are rigid installations, mounted inside buildings, used only by emergency services.

The existence of these columns does not exclude other fire-extinguishing systems, according to the provisions of this regulation.

The distance from the nearest access path to the water supply connection must not exceed 40 m. Emergency services must have access to the water supply at any time.

 

 

USE

Equipment for dry columns is mandatory for the following categories of buildings:

a) tall and very tall civil buildings, as well as buildings with crowded halls with more than two over ground levels;

b) closed or open over ground parking lots with more than 4 (four) levels, as well as underground car parkings, according to the specific regulations;

c) underground civil buildings with an area of ​​more than 600 m² and two or more underground levels;

d) construction and / or storage buildings with more than 5 (five) above ground levels.

 

 

CARACTERISTICS

The 75 mm STORZ connection is placed on the outside wall of the building and is sealed with a blind coupling. At the bottom of the column installation there is a retaining valve and a drain tap, which is kept in the “CLOSED” position.
